Truckin Magazine cool trucks. What do you do when all you want to build is a dualie truck, but a Chevrolet C10 falls into your lap? A friend of his was building a C10 and decided to go a different direction. The C10 became available for JR for the right price. With his experience in building dualie trucks, JR decided to do the incredible and unthinkable. The frame was built from scratch from the cab back to allow more room in the rear for tires. Disc brakes were added all around for better stopping ability. A 6-inch double-ended cylinder was used and controlled by a manual valve. With the new dualie rear end carefully added to the Chevy C10, JR decided to bring the classic lower to the ground. A handbuilt two-link with convoluted airbags was installed. Two Viair compressors were added for power and a 5-gallon tank was carefully installed under the dashboard. A Lunati cam and Victor Jr. To set the C10 above the rest and really make it stand out, JR gave his Chevy independent steering. Instead of the line running straight from the power steering pump to the steering box, he made it loop through the manual valve. It now powers the valve and only steers the rear cylinder when the lever is moved. JR added a set of steel semitruck JR welded up the holes and painted them black. Future plans are to have a Cummins diesel integrated into the Chevy C10 along with finishing up the interior, bed, and paint. We replaced the broken brake line, added new fluid and bled the brakes for about an hour and there still seems to be air in the lines or something else because the brake pedal still goes to the floor. The brake service engine light comes on every time we release the pressure in the lines. Is there something else that could be wrong or is this normal to bleed this long? I have a 97 suburban, so I believe things are very similar. I too have replaced lines on this truck and spent hours of time and over a gallon of fluid trying to get it bled correctly. A couple things that I've learned and have helped. Bench bleed the master. Remove the lines, install short lines, and have them go back to the reservoir on the master. Pump until no bubbles. Bench bleed the ABS. Same as bench bleeding the master. I didn't try this, but I think it would have really helped. When bleeding - Open the bleeder, push the pedal down, close the bleeder, release the pedal. This will help from air getting trapped. Never quite got it right. I wasn't closing the bleeders in between pumps though. Pressure bleeding - apply pressure to the master cylinder reservoir to push fluid through. Might had worked had the top been able to seal well, but it ended up just making a big mess. Vacuum bleeding - apply vacuum at the bleeder. Be sure to use a ton...
